“Thermal transfer printing” – how easy to say…
Etisoft Warszawa started cooperation with the Polish Association of the Deaf
In sign language, such wording as “thermal transfer printing” does not exist. Explaining what it is about, as well as what is the nature of the department dealing with such printing is not easy. Our Warsaw branch has just started cooperation with the Polish Association of the Deaf, which resulted in several hours training for people with hearing impairments. The cooperation was preceded by an audit led by PZG (Polish Association of the Deaf ).
Values we believe
As Edyta Gomułka-Skiba of Etisoft Warsaw recalls, the idea to hire people with a disability certificate was crystallized last year. After a dozen “conversations”, we managed to find a person who proved that with the will and determination of both parties, things are possible! Piotr has been with us for several months now. He is an independent and respected employee who develops his passion for photography, an athlete, says Edyta. – This recruitment has shown me the immense difficulties faced by people with disabilities …
Thanks to the involvement of the deaf Peter Kruszak (who created the subtitles for the film promoting Etisoft), Adam Krupiński (who prepared presentation of TT printers usage), Michał Kulesza, who in a funny way showed the possibilities of etiLABEL software and assistants at printing stations, as well as sign language interpreter – Katarzyna Dudek from the PZG the training went well. The listeners expanded their knowledge of the labeling process and gained new skills that we hope will help them find a job.
As Edyta emphasizes, the words of appreciation from the participants and PZG are the cause of great satisfaction. Once again we have convinced that the word “communicability” does not depend on whether we are hearing or deaf, but whether we want to go beyond stereotypes, adds Edyta.
Socially responsible company
Let us add that Etisoft Gliwice currently employs four people with hearing and speech dysfunction. We communicate without barriers, because there are people among us who know sign language. As a socially responsible company, we create friendly workplaces, helping people with disabilities to achieve professional self-fulfillment and independence. For us all it is an excellent opportunity to learn to work in an interesting group – in such values we believe.
